The Expedition SSV turns the civilian SUV into a rugged workspace. It swaps carpet for easy-to-clean vinyl flooring and replaces the center console with a column shifter, opening up critical space for police radio stacks and laptop mounts.
- Max Cargo Flexibility: Fold-flat second and third rows create a massive, flat load floor for tactical crates and gear.

The Expedition SSV, Explained
The command center of the police lineup. Built on the fully redesigned Expedition platform: a 400 hp 3.5L EcoBoost, a split tailgate that turns the back into a working surface, and a cargo hold that swallows the gear that makes other SUVs beg for a trailer.
Special service, spec’d for the job. Fire chiefs run it as a battalion command unit, sheriffs spec it for K9 and tactical teams, and emergency managers tow mobile command trailers with it. Inside: washable floors and open mounting real estate for radios, docks, and weapon storage.

Expedition SSV or Tahoe SSV?
The Expedition counters the Tahoe SSV‘s V8 with EcoBoost torque, more usable cargo behind the third row in MAX form, and the split tailgate command surface. Fire command tends to pick the Expedition; K9 splits both ways. We stock both, so you are choosing on merit, not on backorder.
Is the Expedition SSV pursuit rated?
No. It is a Special Service Vehicle, engineered for durability, payload, and electrical load rather than pursuit dynamics. For pursuit rated Ford metal, look at the Explorer PIU or F-150 Responder.
Can it really run a command post?
That is its natural habitat. We build them with scene lighting, radio stacks, laptop docks, drone storage, and inverter power, all wired on labeled circuits with the programming documented in your portal. The split gate becomes the briefing table.
Standard or MAX?
MAX adds about a foot of length and serious cargo behind the third row. If the truck carries a full crew plus gear, take the MAX. If it lives downtown and parks in a garage, standard keeps it maneuverable.
